First Fast

Wayne is calm and thoughtful, but he still has the energy and spark you expect from a good cattle dog. He is people oriented and steady, and once he warms up he enjoys meeting new folks. Like many cattle dogs, he starts out a little suspicious, but he settles quickly and is comfortable being petted once he reads the situation.

He travels often for dog shows, so new places and busy environments are very normal for him. None of it bothers him. He has also been raised by my kids and shown by my 12 year old in juniors, which says a lot about his patience and good nature. He is great with children and enjoys affection, his one downside is he is clingy.

His herding instinct is natural and honest, please see videos below. He also loves Fast CAT and puts a lot of effort into anything he does. At home his routine is simple. He exercises and plays with the other dogs and stays easy to live with. He gets along with both males and females and has no issues with male aggression. He is calm and respectful around livestock and handled his farm dog test with confidence.

Training him is straightforward because he learns fast and wants to please. When he gets frustrated, he has a funny habit of tossing a ball around or shaking a toy, almost like he is venting to himself. It is a charming little quirk that shows how he thinks things through.

He stands out because he is smart, willing, and genuinely eager to make his people happy. Most people who meet him comment first on how gorgeous he is in person and secondly, how stocky he is.
