Our Process

Prices

Puppies are typically $2000–$2,500 depending on the litter and availability for companion homes only. If you are an established breeder interested in a future show prospect, you’re welcome to reach out directly to discuss availability and expectations.

1. Start With an Application

I’d love to learn more about what you’re looking for and help make sure one of our puppies is right for you. Most families who apply are a great fit. I’m happy to answer questions. I try to make this process straightforward and low stress. I’m here to help guide you.

2. Join Waitlist

We’ll have a brief conversation so I can learn more about the type of home you’re looking to provide and help answer any questions about the breed or upcoming litters.
My waitlist is simply how I organize interest and keep families updated as litters arrive. Families are contacted once puppies are born and we begin matching homes in reservation order.
If you haven’t heard back within 2 days, please check your spam folder or send me a text.

3. Reservation (Around 2-3 Weeks Old)

Reservation spots are typically opened around 2-3 weeks of age once we’ve confirmed puppy count and availability.

Some puppies may be released for reservation earlier than others as we evaluate the litter. Flying D reserves the right to retain any puppy under breeder consideration until final evaluations are complete.

4. Puppy Health Evaluation (Around 7 Weeks)

At 7 weeks, all puppies receive a comprehensive health exam which includes:

  • BAER hearing tests
  • bite evaluation
  • vet exam
  • overall development at 7 weeks

We often have a few puppies that remain under consideration as potential future Flying D dogs. Those puppies won't be available for reservation until we've completed our final evaluations around 7 weeks. If we decide not to keep them, they will then become available to approved families.

5. Go-Home (Around 10 Weeks)

Puppies go home around 10 weeks of age with:

  • Age-appropriate vaccinations
  • Deworming
  • BAER hearing testing
  • Veterinary health exam
  • Early socialization and real-life farm exposure

Puppies are raised with plenty of room to explore, play, and develop confidence naturally.

Expectations/Policies

Australian Cattle Dogs are intelligent, active dogs that thrive when included in daily life with structure, training, and consistency.

I remain available throughout your dog's life if questions or challenges arise.

Timelines may occasionally adjust based on the needs of the litter. Families receive updates throughout the process as puppies grow.
