Our process begins with a written application, followed by a phone interview to ensure we're a good fit. If you're interested in a future litter, let us know — approved applicants will be notified when puppies become available.
We do not accept deposits before a litter is born. Deposits are accepted starting at 3 weeks of age. Please research the breed thoroughly to ensure your lifestyle suits a Cattle Dog. The deposit is $500 and is applied to the total price. Remaining balance is due at pickup.
The nearest airport is Will Rogers World Airport (OKC). Puppies must fly before 10 weeks of age to fit safely in an in-cabin carrier. We do not ship puppies as cargo. If you plan to drive, we’re located near Fairview, OK. Please plan ahead so pickup or travel aligns with your puppy’s age and size.
Flying D Kennels is a small, family-owned Australian Cattle Dog breeder located in rural Oklahoma. We raise purebred Australian Cattle Dogs alongside Black Angus beef cattle and Nigerian Dwarf goats, focusing on cow/calf pairs. We've been breeding purpose-driven ACDs for over 10 years. Pictured above are three generations of our dogs — daughter, mother, and grandma.
Many forget what Australian Cattle Dogs were originally bred for — herding wild cattle in the Australian bush. These weren’t pasture pets; they were thousand-pound animals that had never seen humans. ACDs had to be tough, independent, and bold enough to take a kick and keep going.
Those same traits — strong-willed, athletic, able to think

Those same traits — strong-willed, athletic, able to think and act independently, with intense stamina and drive — are what make them exceptional working dogs. But in the wrong home, they can make inexperienced pet owners absolutely miserable. This breed needs a job, structure, and someone who respects what they were designed to do.
We want active families, who are experienced breed owners who have a plan and goal for their dog in mind. Our dogs do well in sport or performance homes where they compete in dock diving, rally, agility or barn hunt, or ranch or farm homes. They do not do well in suburban or apartment homes as pets. Our Australian Cattle Dog puppies for sale are reserved quickly, so send in your application to reserve your new family member or to ask any questions.
Welcome! Please apply for a puppy if you're ready to take a puppy home within the next 2 months.
