Katy was bred and raised by us and is deeply devoted to her people. From her father, she inherited her intense demonstrations of love-- that affection is reserved strictly for those she knows and trusts. With her family, Katy is overflowing with devotion, freely giving kisses and enthusiastic displays of affection.
With strangers, Katy is naturally suspicious and protective, making her an excellent guard dog at home. She will alert bark, then settle after a few minutes at unfamiliar people. Despite this, Katy is stable and appropriate when out in public. In the show ring and when out and about, she is well-behaved and manageable, able to distinguish between situations that require alertness and those that do not, she will simply ignore other people out in public.
Katy is not a confident dog and can be quite dramatic in her reactions, earning her reputation as a bit of a drama queen. She is submissive and sensitive to correction. That sensitivity is paired with a sweet, loyal temperament and a strong bond to her family.
Structurally, Katy has a beautiful head and muzzle with a correct, short stop in muzzle length. She consistently passes on her positive traits, and her offspring so far have inherited her good qualities. Katy is an excellent mother—attentive, protective, and deeply nurturing toward her puppies.
